I graduated in December 2023 with First Class Honours in Computer Engineering (GPA 3.95/4.00) from the from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I now work as a Research Assistant at the Multidisciplinary AI Research Center, where I focus on advancing healthcare through technology.
I am interested in technology-driven healthcare advancements, focusing on signal & image processing, deep learning and computer vision.

- Dec 2024 - Two papers from my research team received Outstanding Paper Awards🏆 at the International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC) 2024 for "Real-World Data-Driven Agent-Based Modeling for Health Policy Insights During Epidemics" and "Unveiling Motion Patterns Through Unsupervised Clustering."
- Oct 2024 - I introduced biomedical engineering to school students, highlighting the multidisciplinary nature of research during the AI Workshop Series - "Empowering Sri Lanka through AI." Follow us on LinkedIn for updates on the next session!
- Sep 2024 - The paper titled "Multimodal Deep Convolutional Neural Network Pipeline for AI-Assisted Early Detection of Oral Cancer" was published in IEEE Access.
- Sep 2024 - The paper titled "A Comprehensive Dataset of Annotated Oral Cavity Images for Diagnosis of Oral Cancer and Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders" was published in Elsevier Oral Oncology.
- Aug 2024 - Three papers were accepted, and the paper titled "EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interface for Inner Speech Classification" received the Best Paper Award🏆 in the Biomedical Engineering track at the Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2024.
- Jul 2024 - The paper titled "A novel ECG compression algorithm using Pulse-Width Modulation integrated quantization for low-power real-time monitoring" was published in Nature Scientific Reports.
- Jul 2024 - Participated in the Cornell, Maryland, Max Planck Pre-doctoral Research School (CMMRS) 2024, which focused on cutting-edge research in computer science.
- Oct 2023 - Demonstrated the "Oral Assessment and Screening Interactive System" at Sri Lanka's largest engineering and technology exhibition, Techno 2023. The University of Peradeniya was honored to receive the Gold Award🏆 for the University Stall with the Best Display of Engineering Projects.
- Oct 2023 - Won the Bronze Award🏆 at the National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2023, in the Student Category (technology) for the project "Oral cavity image annotation and cancer prediction from white light images."
- Dec 2022 - Won the Professor E. F. Bartholomeusz Prize for Second Year Engineering Mathematics, awarded to the best student in all engineering specialties with the highest aggregated mark for the engineering mathematics modules offered throughout the year.
- Jan 2019 - Received the 'Piripun Diyaniya Award' 🏆 for the Best All-Rounder of the Year 2017 at Pushpadana Girls' College, Kandy, from Chief Guest Professor Vasanthi Pinto.
