Research Assistant at Multidisciplinary AI Research Center, University of Peradeniya


I completed my Computer Engineering degree with First Class Honours (GPA 3.95/4.00) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and currently serve as a Research Assistant at the Multidisciplinary AI Research Center at the same university. I am passionate about machine learning, deep learning, and signal processing.


My research interests lie in signal processing and artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning and computer vision, with wearables, focusing on but not limited to biomedical engineering applications.

August 10, 2024 The paper titled "EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interface for Inner Speech Classification" received the Best Paper Award🏆 in the Biomedical Engineering track at the Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2024.
July 28 - August 4, 2024 Participated the Cornell, Maryland, Max Planck Pre-doctoral Research School (CMMRS) 2024, focused on cutting-edge research in computer science. The program was held in Saarbrücken, Germany, from July 27th to August 4th.
October 20-22, 2023 Proudly demonstrated the "Oral Assessment and Screening Interactive System" at Sri Lanka's largest engineering and technology exhibition, Techno 2023, held annually at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. The University of Peradeniya was honored to receive the Gold Award🏆 for the University Stall with the Best Display of Engineering Projects.
October 25, 2023 Won the Bronze Award🏆 at the National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2023, in the Student Category (technology) for the project "Oral cavity image annotation and cancer prediction from white light images."
December 17, 2022 Won the Professor E. F. Bartholomeusz Prize for Second Year Engineering Mathematics, awarded to the best student in all engineering specialties with the highest average mark for the engineering mathematics modules offered throughout the year at the annual general meeting of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya.
January 8, 2019 Received the 'Piripun Diyaniya Award' 🏆 for the Best All-Rounder of the Year 2017 at Pushpadana Girls' College, Kandy, from Chief Guest Professor Vasanthi Pinto.
